Hi Kerrie,

Great to hear from you! I must admit things like babies & boyfriends/girlfriends terrify me when I think about my children's future and they are only 6 and 4!

Have you had a look at the Cerebral Palsy page on the main part of this website, at http://www.specialfamilies.org/tag_information.html&tags=Cerebral%20Palsy? It has a list of a few support groups such as HemiHelp, Scope and Cerebra which might be useful for you.

Keep in touch,

Hi Kerrie here (keza)
Jazz is effected on her right side, she walks on her tippy toes. here right arm is also a little tight. we are looking into injections now, waiting for first appointment. i wonder about grand kids. jazz is a sweet pretty girl, she really is kind and just sweet. when she has pmt. thats when she gives herself a hard time. she came home last week and asked me is her limp obvious. i told her when shes tired she limps a little more. I try to explain this is how god made her. and that she shouldnt pick on herself for it. Jazz always compares herself to other girls her age.  my heart breaks when she gets so down. has anyone had a hemi child that has had kids? take care everyone. thank you for your help. our first baby was 6 weeks premi and was stillborn. jazz was 12 weeks premi, we are blessed to have her.   Wink

Hi Kerrie,

I think all parents worry about the future but for parents with children with special needs its a whole new dimension. I was really moved when I read your post, Jazz is a really lucky girl to have a mum that cares so much about her. I suppose the logical thing to do is to try and take one day at a time, but logic doesn't really come into the equation when thinking about your child's future.

Lots of love to you and your family,

hi keza
At what age was your daughter diagnoised.
Does she like swimming its supposed to be a great form of exercise for hemi's
I think growning growing up , girls are always more self concious then boys, I really feel for her , Have you tryed the hemihelp forum there are teenagers on there the same age as your daughter , she may be able to vent some anger out and chat to people how have the same condition has her.
Hope this helps a little Im constantly fretting about ashton and what the future will be like for him
Much love to you both
