If you feel able please sign the petition below to bring it to the governments attention that disabled people need additional heating in the winter months as much as the elderly. Therefore the disabled should also recieve a Winter Fuel Allowance. More info on the petition itself. http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/fightforheating/ |

I hope so too and thank you for signing, the more that sign the better.
Mine are mobile now but when they were younger and didn't sleep we were up with them all night.
Our heating bills were unmanagable and it took us a while to get straight during the summer only to bump them up again the next winter.

Just realised that the end date for this petition is 4-Jun-08 so even if it goes through disabled people will not get any extra help this winter. It is supposed to be cold this winter too.
Also there are only 608 signatures - I will post on some of my dog forums and see if more people will help out.
Although we have never struggled to pay bills and do not really need extra heat we know of several wheelchair users etc who do so this is a must for those people.

Just signed up. Its not so much a problem for us in terms of being able to pay, but when we are up at nights in winter giving Michael his drinks its freezing, so for some parents who are up all night it must be either expensive or unbearable. Definitely a worthy cause!

just signed although by time it goes through it wont be of any help to us hope it benefits all off you and i remember the long expensive nights sat up with one of the children so fingers crossed on that one xx
