Just wondered if you had heard about the above organising who work with disabled children and their families to promote inclusion in mainstream leisure and recreation services in the Poole area.  They are a small team of workers who 'buddy' children between the ages of 8-13 yrs old, when attending leisure activities/clubs etc.  They support children with the aim of promoting independence.  Although not providing funding for the activites or transport, the support from the team is free.  The scheme is in association with Barnardo's South West in partnership with Poole Children's Fund.

I don't have and can't find a website for the above organisation, but I do have a telephone number and contact.

Contact name - Janet Chaproniere
Telephone no - 01202 853142

I am hoping that my son will be able to attend cubs next year when he is 8 years old, and maybe some other activities too, and hopefully someone from the above organisation will be able to go with him.   My husband or myself could go with him, but as he grows up he needs to be able to do activities independantly from us.

I hope that this will help someone in this area.
Best Wishes
Julie

Thanks for the tip Julie, I hadn't heard of G.A.P. before. Sounds like a great idea though.
