Hello,

I am Claire. I have worked at the holiday play scheme at Micheal's school for 8 years now. I first met Micheal 2 years ago and Elsie 1 year ago when they attended. It's great to see the progress the kids make after a whole year. Paula gave me a card for this website, which I promptly lost. I tried googling her kids names, but fortunatley it didn't work due to her good confidentiality measures. Finally I found a link  from the BBC OUCH website.

I am studying Speech and language therapy at university, which I find very interesting and rewarding. I also have dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Hi Claire

Once you are qualified we will lock you in a room - S&L is so understaffed.

Glad you found the site though.

Once qualified I will willingly stay in that room! Will it be filled with toys and resources? There aren't enough jobs in SLT at the moment, but lots of unemployed therapsists.

Come down here then - they cannot fill the posts here.  There are always vacancies.

Well I guess I could come back to Dorset, my family live here after all. But there are no canals here, and the first home I buy WILL be a narrowboat!

Hi Claire

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure we can find a narrowboat berth on the harbour somewhere down here! It must be weird to see our kids only once a year, when you are with them every day its hard to remember just how much progress they are making. Oh, and thanks for your help on the play scheme - it certainly gives the kids something to look forward to and a bit of a break for Paula which is essential during the long holiday...

Hi!

Would like to echo what John has said about how grateful we are for the work that you have done at the play scheme. Anyone who tries to get Elise to eat is OK by me! I will build you a narrow boat if needs be (can't guarantee it won't leak though!)
