my daughter is due to start school next year. seh is going to private school as there are smaller class numbers and as she attends the kindregarten there most people know her. jasmine has epilepsy and mild to moderate developmental delays plus language diffficulties. her grandmother also works at this school.
jasmine is due to be assessed for statementing soon, but how does this work in a private school if she does-which i think she will-need 1-to-1 at school.
is it up to the school to pay for this?

deperately tring to research this

thanks,
jo

My daughter was in a private school and received a statement. It took a long time and lots of hard work but I think that is the same for most people. It will depend on how supportive the SENCO is on how quickly they put it into place. I did have to threaten them with SENDIST tribunal and regularly get in touch with the case worker at the LEA. But it did eventually come through and she was given 20 hours 1 to 1 help. More than happy to let you know how it worked if you want to contact me again.
