Has anyone heard of Warmfront? Apparently its a scheme where people on benefits can get funding towards home energy efficiency improvements such as cavity wall insulation. I'm not sure if having children on benefits entitles you to apply for a Warmfront grant so I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has come across this before.

Thanks

Here's a link:

It is a really good scheme and I'd avise anyone who is entitled to apply.

I thought I already had this link on my forum but I haven't so I'll go and pop it on there too.

I will get Dom to look at this as both Dom and Thomas receive DLA (Dom WPDLA).

It sounds like Warmfront will pay for cavity wall insulation for us on the basis of our children's benefits, which is great. We have someone coming to evaluate the property in a couple of weeks.

We'll we've now had the guy from Warmfront come out and evaluate our house. He is going to arrange to have our house cavity wall insulated, and our loft insulation brought up to modern standards, all at no cost to us! All he needed was proof of DLA for the children.

The work is due to be done on the 7th of January. That's a result!

Hi!

Have certainly noticed a difference since it has been done as the heating has been on a lot less. Only trouble is we found out last night that the boiler is leaking and the pressure keeps on dropping so not sure if it is the insulation making a difference or the boiler is about to conk out!!! Have a nice man coming tomorrow to have a look. Another thing to sort out....! Roll Eyes

I think warmfront will help with a boiler too but not as an emergency and not until it is completely broken. Not much use when you have children with disabilities to keep warm.

We have a scheme with BG. It costs us but we know that it won't cost us when things go wrong. I think it costs about £120 ish a year and well worth it too as we have needed them a couple of times.

I hope you get it sorted out soon.
