Have posted which was received today from our local Family Information Officer:

Special Children's Day at London Zoo.


The Zoological Society London are holding a Special Children’s Day at London Zoo on Saturday, 14 June 2008.

 

All events and keeper's talks will be interpreted by a signer using British Sign Language. As well as many other events taking place during the day they offer a special reduced rate for children with special needs and their families.

 

Children and adults will be admitted at the following special reduced rates for this day (this applies to tickets pre-booked and pre-paid before Friday, 7 June 2008):

 

- Children under 3 years - free of charge;

 

- Children 3-18 years - six pounds seventy five;

 

- Adults - ten pounds;

 

- Essential Carer - free of charge (limited to one per family).

That sounds really good. My parents live in London so will see if we can spend the weekend with them. Your Family Information Officer is a real gem of information. Wish we had one in our area.

Yes we are lucky Paula, for all my griping.

That is why I post things so that

1.  Others can badger their concils and SN people
2.  Other people can attend - the more well attended an event is, the better it is for us as people will run it again.

I agree! Which dept is the information officer attached to, so people can find out if they have got one?

She is part of the Family Information services.

If I put up our council web page for children then perhaps it will be clearer.
