Has anyone travelled on a plane since the recent scare?

We are travelling in a week from now and it sounds like the restrictions on what you can carry onboard are likely to stay in place. We have previuosly been told that the airline won't take our essential medication in the hold because of the risk of losing it, but it sounds like we can't take it in the cabin either. Also, our son has to drink copiously and we can't not carry his drink (water) around with us all the time. Let alone managing without the essential teddy bears and so forth.

Anyone any idea how amenable the airlines are going to be to special needs?

Just incase anybody is interested, it does look like the situation will remain the same for some time yet.

From our recent experiences travelling through Bournemouth airport, I think the best advice is to get a letter from your GP explaining your needs, and you should be fine.
