Have been looking into carers allowance recently as I need to work out how much I will lose out on if I get a job. Anyway, was just wondering if any one else finds it weird being called a carer as I never see myself as that - I am just a mum!

It is weird but TBH looking at Mum's or people with "normal" lives versus mine I can see why I am a carer.

Hope you get it sorted.

Hiya.

I have only very recently become a "carer" for my son due to the change in benefits situation. My son's paediatrician told me that I was his carer when he was diagnosed. Yes, it is strange. I think that the amount of love we have for our children prevents us from viewing us as carers.
