I run a support group for sen familys and would you believe it that when it comes to my own issues I am unable to help myself!!my child was placed in a fenced of area
Any way the segragation is one part of this I am letting people know more about this my daughter has a range of complexed needs but excellent speech she had no speech until four she is now six and her voculabrly is excellent she alarmed me to what was going on and told me she was sad that she could not play in the big playground how great is that for my child who has all these problems to express herself and tell me not bad considering her problems when she told me I confronted the school straight away and they let her go back in to the playground but they put her back in without consiltation I only discovered they was continuing this practise because I watched myself I was having other issues at this school with her needs not been met on one occassion she was left unsupervised and she managed to draw allover her genitals with felt tip pen and she is in nappies
There is alot more but Im not sure if it will be removed from here but I would like people to know what goes on in our society with our children believe me I went to education and it all turns out they have been are of this practise and have ok it !!
Well I already contacted human rights with details before I removed her I kept every email and every document I complained to the governers but nothing was done I am now been advised from human rights and they have supported me but its gonna be a long battle the school have said i asked for my child to be placed in there how disgusting is that .
Even tho my child has been removed this practise should not happen and the school say its not segragation but a safeplay area well maybe they should invest in a good dictionary and look up the word segragation to see its meaning!! ISOLATION AND EXCLUSION

Hi Sarahlou

Welcome to the site.  Sorry to hear of your problems.  It is so worrying that schools think that this is ok.  I think sometimes they do things with the best of intentions and don't realise the way it looks on the outside!  No excuses though.

May I ask if this is a special school or a mainstream school?  I have heard good and bad reports of both types of school, and it's a real shame to hear of something like this.

Good luck with your battle.  Hopefully the school will think twice about doing that again.

Hi

Welcome from me.

So sad that you are having these problems and that the school is not "including" your little girl.

This sounds to me like a school where no one had had suitable training and been given a chance to understand the complex needs of children.

I have no other advice to offer on how to resolve it as although I have had problems at school these were resolved and to be honest usually stemmed from one person.

I hope everything gets sorted out for you sooner rather than later.

Was wondering also where you are located.
