Statistics reveal that 90% of 8-16 year olds access sites with adult content on the internet. I wish to prevent my ten year old son from venturing into these forbidden sites. He has been recently initiated into using the internet and we have listed certain sites which he can visit on our PC at home. But I would just like to take some precaution, so I had selected kidsemail.org to prevent all these errors, it’s a safe email service provider..

Good idea.

Thanks for posting.

We were amazed at the stuff T can access even though all he is doing is typing a few unconnected letters in to a search engine.  In fact he gets better hits than I do!!!

You can tell your son about the adverse effects of such things on his personality, now a days children are getting used to such thing which destroys their whole mindset. They need special care from their parents.

I wish your child do not get used to such things. And that is in your own hands how you help him to stay away from them.

I was making a statement - and being a little faecetious but to put your mind at rest we do talk to him and we do monitor what he does - how else would I know that he was able to so these things.  What people have to remember and I guess I was hoping that people would understand subliminally, is that even with safeguards, children (and adults) all search in very different ways and use computers very differently so no two people will ever do the same search.  Therefore we always need to be vigilant to how our children are searching, even if they have not used naught words

As an example, I was looking for Easter gifts for children at school( we have a fun thing and each child gets a little gift) and we thought it would be nice to get them a fluffy easter chick.  We typed that in expecting to get fluffy yellow chicks - we did not - innocent yes......
