Hello

I am currently working as a teaching assistant and studying for an NVQ, part of my NVQ ask me "What is the impact of having a child or young person with a disability or special educational needs within a family"?

When I first read this question I felt confident that I could answer it with ease but on reflection I felt that I  was being a little ignorant  as it would only be my assumption.
If any families have a few moments just to share their experiences and thoughts it would be so helpful and give me a much truer perspective rather than that of a text book.
Thank you for your time. Smiley

Hi.

What a big question! Really would not know where to start on this one as it is really hard to write down. If you want to e mail me direct, I am quite happy to talk to you on the phone about this if you would like.

Hi Paula

Thanks for the reply i know it is a massive area of your life to put into words.

One of the pupils parents at the school I work has kindly given up some of her time to discuss the subject with me and it has really helped me understand.
Thanks for the offer though.

Take care
