Hi. My name is Sally and I am mum to Daniel and Matthew. Daniel has Autism and Dyspraxia and Sensory Integration Dysfunction. One of my worst fears is that of him being bullied in school. He is very introverted and very behind with his communication skills. He stands out as being 'different'. Since receiving Daniel's diagnosis I have given up work as a theatre nurse to look after the boys full time. I have found that support in society is sadly lacking due to lack of funds and other factors. To this end I have launched a magazine called The LIME Magazine for Parents of Children with Special Needs. The August and October Issues have a great article written by Dr Susan Ashley on how to beat bullying in the 21st Century. It is an excellent read - for both children with SEN as well as mainstream children, though it is written for SEN. It is national stop bullying month this month, so we need as many resources such as this that we can get our hands on to stop this phenomenon.
I hope you find this initiative useful, or know somebody that will.
Let's stop this together. Thanks.

Hello

We have been lucky that bullying, while exists, is not rife in my sons school and he is not bullied.

It is sad and after the programme on adults the other night it is scary.

Good luck with the publication.
